At just 14 years old, Ana Carolina De Conto is a source of pride for Paraguay. Born in this vibrant and passionate country, Ana Carolina moved to Toledo, Brazil in 2018 after taking her first steps in gymnastics in a small town near the border.
Her path has not been easy — she began in the pre-competitive team, trained under two different coaches, and since 2022, has been working with her current coach Debora Souza, who has helped her develop her full potential.
The year 2023 marked a turning point in her career. Ana Carolina made her international debut at the South American Age Group Championship in Asunción, where she reached two finals and achieved an impressive fourth place in the ball routine.
Now, in 2025, her hard work is paying off once again: she has qualified to represent Paraguay at the II Junior Pan American Games Asu 2025. She climbed the rankings and once again reached a final — a clear sign of steady progress and development.
With talent, discipline, and a deep passion for gymnastics, Ana Carolina represents not only her country, but also inspires younger generations.
“Gymnastics motivates me to keep going and to dream big”
—How did you feel during the competition? What was it like to hear the crowd cheering for you, clapping and celebrating your performance?
I felt really good, very happy and excited. The crowd lifted my spirits and gave me energy. That joy motivates me to keep going and to work even harder to represent Paraguay with pride.
—How did your love for rhythmic gymnastics begin?
It all started when I began going with my cousin, Fernanda Francieli Lenz Heinemann, to her practices. That was the first time I got close to the sport — and from that moment on, I completely fell in love with gymnastics.
—Which apparatus do you feel most comfortable with?
The ball. It’s the one I enjoy the most and feel most confident with when I perform.
—What message would you give to girls who are just starting or dreaming about doing gymnastics, but still don’t feel ready?
I’d tell them that rhythmic gymnastics is a beautiful and expressive sport. It allows you to show your emotions through movement. And above all, I’d encourage them to never stop fighting for their dreams — to stay strong and keep going.
—How do you feel about representing Paraguay?
I feel very happy. Paraguay is my home country — I was born here. Even though I moved back to Brazil when I was just a month old, I carry Paraguay in my heart. Representing it is a huge honor for me.
Ana Carolina is one of the athletes who will be part of the Paraguayan delegation at ASU2025. Her presence at the event will be another opportunity to gain valuable experience and represent the country on the continental stage.
