The cold and quit Paraguayan morning was broken by the sound of arrows flying to their targets, some reaching it and others coming very close to it. Archery entered the continental scene with the participation of dozens archers from different nations.
In that competition in the qualifying stage, Mexico took a certain advantage over the others with good performances by its representatives in most of the team modalities.
The North American country managed to lead in mixed compounds teams (1265 points), mixed recurve teams (1183 points), and women’s recurve teams (1135 points).
As for the individual category, Kaylee Gurney of the United States led her modality with 636 points. Also, in the female breach, but in recurve, Angela Ruiz of Mexico followed her country’s line and led with 609 points.
Moving on to the other branch, representatives from Bolivia, Colombia, and Chile set the the beat and managed to finish first in their rounds.
As a fun fact of the day, Esteban Tillit from Guatemala celebrated his 18th birthday today in the middle of the continental event.
The archery competition will continue in the afternoon with the elimination rounds.
