A Perfect Night and Gold for Brazil: In the evening session of the final day, the South Americans won with a convincing 3-0 victory over Mexico, finishing the tournament undefeated. They played a total of six matches, shutting out their opponents four times. Ana Luiza Rüdiger was the star of the final with 16 points.
Additionally, Julliana Vitoria de Andrade Costa of Brazil was chosen as the most important player of the entire tournament.
Earlier, in the bronze medal match, and in front of a loud and packed crowd, the Dominican Republic and Argentina delivered a spectacular clash. The Central Americans started strong, winning the first set 25-17 and the second 25-21. The third set was a charm for the South Americans, who took it 25-21. However, in the fourth set, the Dominicans reasserted their power and, with a 25-19 win, sealed the 3-1 victory to take the bronze and unleash their fans’ celebration. K. Alonzo was the top scorer of the match with 20 points.
In the morning session, the classification matches were played. Paraguay and Chile opened the schedule with a 3-2 victory for the home team. In the match for fifth place, Cuba was vastly superior and defeated Costa Rica 3-0.
