Making it clear who the dominator of this sport is on American soil, the Colombian team managed to win this competition within the structure of the JuniorPanAmericanGamesASU2025. High-level races, determined riders, and the environment also helped, joining forces to create the perfect atmosphere in one of the oldest neighborhoods in the Capital of Paraguay.
First up in the time trial, Colombian Natalia Garzón commanded the convoy in the women’s race and reaffirmed her status as a South American promise. The 23 kilometers were covered with a uniform and ascending rhythm by the Colombian, who became unreachable for her rivals. Like wise, she closed with a time of 36:43:32 and took the gold medal without a doubt.
Next, the men came into action with the time trial where, like his compatriot, Samuel Florez Garcés added the second medal for the land of coffee. The Colombian covered the tens of kilometers and reached the finish line in less than 50 minutes (49:09:13) to hang the gold medal. He was followed by the Mexican José Antonio Prieto de Luna with a time of 49:23:25 and the Colombian Juan Diego Quintero, who closed the podium with 49:40:02.
