Second day of Beach Volleyball competitions at the Pynandi Stadium in the Olympic Park. Another day packed with talent that attracted the attention of many people, defying the unstable Paraguayan sky. As a result, the teams that continue in the fight to reach the final stages where we will know the medalists of this captivating discipline emerged.
Divided into three shifts, the day began with the victories of Venezuela, Costa Rica, Canada, and Chile, all corresponding to the women’s category and before the furious storm. Later, in the afternoon, the men’s turn resumed with the successes of Venezuela, Canada, Costa Rica, and Brazil. Almost immediately, the women intervened again with the matches where the United States, Argentina, Bolivia, and Cuba triumphed.
Alternating again, the men stepped onto the court and victories were achieved by El Salvador, Chile, Argentina, and the United States. Near nightfall, and always with the threatening weather announcing a strong storm, the day culminated with the victories of Brazil, Venezuela, Canada, and Chile (in women’s) and Uruguay, Venezuela, Brazil, and the Dominican Republic (in men’s).
As a result of the extensive day of competitions, the brackets for the round of 16 that will begin tomorrow were set. In the men’s category, the bracket for this stage features Paraguay vs Canada, Argentina vs Dominican Republic, Cuba vs Costa Rica, and Chile vs Uruguay.
The same happens in the women’s category, with almost the same countries as protagonists. The schedule for this stage set the matches between Cuba vs Colombia, Brazil vs Argentina, Paraguay vs Costa Rica, and Chile vs Peru. Tomorrow, this intense sport will continue with the matches of this round and those belonging to the quarterfinals.
