Shooting found its best version on a sunny day at the Olympic Park and crowned its medalists in close finals.
Representatives from Guatemala and Chile added more medals for their respective delegations on the second day of the Junior Pan American Games ASU2025. The two winners from the initial day confirmed their good performance and secured the gold medal after defeating their rivals again.
First, Emily Padilla, from Guatemala, was the most accurate in this sport of extreme precision and won the competition after hitting 42 targets, just one more than the silver medalist, the American Gracelynn Hensley. Her compatriot Alishia Layne completed the podium with 33 points.
In the men’s category, Chile’s Raimundo Roche showed confidence from the first shot and firmly made his way to the Pan American gold. The South American scored 55 points, leaving Aidin Burns, from the United States, in second place with 51 points. The bronze ended up around the neck of another Chilean, Rodrigo Moyano, who accumulated 41 points to the generalized celebration of his country’s delegation.
In this way, Chile and Guatemala add medals to their scoreboard. In the case of the latter, it is the first one they obtain in the current Junior Pan American Games. The South Americans, for their part, are at the top of the ranking with five gold medals.
