A Ceremony Full of Hope
The event took place at the iconic Lago de la República, where an emotional welcoming ceremony was held. The torch then embarked on a symbolic route through the city’s main streets, accompanied by hundreds of residents who came together to celebrate this vibrant sporting and cultural moment.
Inspiring Torchbearers
A total of 20 individuals had the honor of carrying the torch—among them, local authorities, educational leaders, and outstanding athletes. The relay was led by Mrs. Mirna Wolf, the First Lady of Alto Paraná.
Also taking part were: Francisco Alcorta, Dani Mujica, and Fabián Corvalán from the Ciudad del Este Municipality; Paola Báez, Indiana Romero, Liz González, Luján Medina, and Víctor Hugo Medina from the Alto Paraná Governor’s Office; handball athletes David Arias and Samuel Viana; athletes from Santa Rita, Fátima Ramírez and David Amaral; karateka Agatta Giménez; and athletes Evelyn Brítez, Erika Rotela, and Daisy Ortiz.
The route concluded at the Polideportivo of the Alto Paraná Governor’s Office, where the torch was received with honors in a formal ceremony filled with unity and national pride.
ASU2025: The Countdown Has Begun
From August 9 to 23, Paraguay will host the Junior Pan American Games ASU2025. An event that will bring together more than 4,000 young athletes from across the continent. Beyond the competition, it will be a celebration of youth talent, diversity, and the spirit of unity throughout the Americas.
