This camp aims to offer a high-level experience to young athletes visiting Paraguay as part of their preparation for the continental competition.
Athletes and delegations from Argentina, Belize, Bermuda, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Grenada, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay, Venezuela, and Paraguay are taking part in the event.
The opening ceremony was held in the Zubizarreta Hall of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee (COP), as part of the activities of the “Promesas Olímpicas” Tournament, which will take place on Friday, July 11, and Saturday, July 12. The event was attended by prominent sports authorities, athletes, and national sports figures, including Benjamín Hockin, president of the Paraguayan Aquatic Sports Federation, and Rocío Rivarola, Sports Director of the COP.
“It is an honor to share this space with all of you. Take this opportunity to exchange knowledge and prepare in the best way possible for ASU2025,” Hockin told the young swimmers.
About the “Promesas Olímpicas” (Olympic Hopefuls) Tournament
The “Promesas Olímpicas” Tournament will bring together swimmers aged 10 to 13, who will compete in individual and relay events across freestyle, medley, breaststroke, and butterfly disciplines. The competitions will be held at the newly inaugurated Olympic Aquatic Center (CAO), considered the most modern in South America and one of the main venues for the ASU2025 Games.
Both the camp and the tournament represent a key opportunity to evaluate technical, logistical, and organizational aspects in preparation for the Games. This first test event will allow organizers to fine-tune details and ensure an excellent experience for all participants.
