BALDUCCINI AND CARIBE, MASTERS OF THE 100-METER FREESTYLE
In the 100-meter freestyle, Stephanie Balduccini from Brazil topped the podium with an impeccable performance that confirmed Brazilian strength in the women’s category. She was joined by Isabella Bedoya of Colombia (silver) and Angelina Solari of Uruguay (bronze).
In the men’s category, Guilherme Caribe made history with a record time of 47.54, winning the gold. Andrés Dupont of Mexico took the silver, and Lamar Taylor of the Bahamas won the bronze.
AMARAL AND BONILLA SHINE IN THE 200-METERS BREASTSTROKE
Brazil’s athlete,Agatha Amaral, won the 200-meter breaststroke with authority, taking the gold, followed by Emily Santos of Panama (silver) and Nichelly Brandão (bronze).
In the men’s category, the surprise came from Roberto Bonilla of Guatemala, who set a new record with a time of 2:12.60 to win the gold medal. Guilherme Camossato of Brazil earned the silver, while Mariano Lazzeirini of Chile completed the podium with the bronze.
PULIDO AND SARAVIA, RECORDS IN THE 100-METER BACKSTROKE
Mexico’s athlete, Celia Pulido, broke the record with a time of 1:00.82 to win gold in the women’s 100-meter backstroke. Cecilia Dieleke of Argentina took silver, and Julia Ferreira of Brazil won bronze.
In the men’s event, Ulises Saravia of Argentina celebrated a record with a time of 53.89, which crowned him continental champion. Silver went to Maximillian Wilson (Virgin Islands) and bronze to Jack Harvey (Bermuda).
800-METERS: A BRAZILIAN PARTY WITH RECORDS INCLUDED
This event, getting close to the end of the day, was dominated by Brazil. Leticia Fassina celebrated gold with a record of 8:50.81 in the women’s 800-meter freestyle, while Stephan Steverink mirrored her in the men’s event with a time of 7:54.49.
Tiffany Murillo of Colombia and Sharon Guerrero of Mexico completed the women’s podium with silver and bronze, respectively. In the men’s event, Joao Campos of Brazil took silver, and Paulo Strehlke of Mexico won bronze.
MIXED RELAY AND GOLD FOR BRAZIL
The day closed with another Brazilian exhibition in the 4×100 mixed medley relay, where they set a record of 3:51.55 to win the gold. Argentina took silver, and Colombia won bronze.
