The intense day started early and continued throughout the day with the first rounds of the competition in the different categories of this sport.
After these matches, the quarterfinal matchups to be played tomorrow were confirmed in the mixed doubles, doubles, and singles categories. In mixed doubles, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, and Venezuela qualified for the next round.
Furthermore, in the women’s doubles category, the teams that secured their spot among the top eight pairs were representatives from Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Canada, Ecuador, the United States, Trinidad and Tobago, Colombia, and Puerto Rico. Meanwhile, in the men’s category, the countries that reached this same stage are Canada, Mexico, Paraguay, the United States, Argentina, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, and Brazil.
In the individual competitions, in the men’s category, the teams that advanced were Paraguay, the United States, Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela. In the women’s category, the nations that qualified among the top eight were Colombia, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, the United States, Trinidad and Tobago, Canada, Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, Costa Rica, and Antigua and Barbuda.
The quarterfinal matches in the three specialties will be held tomorrow starting at 10:00 AM on the different tables. Subsequently, the semifinal round will take place, and finally, the final for the medals. It is worth noting that the two gold medalists in the individual competitions will grant a direct spot for the Lima 2027 Pan American Games.
