In the men’s branch, the Argentine team took the gold medal playing at a superlative level; finishing undefeated and reaching 21 points in all their matches. In the final, they defeated Chile 21-11, who finished with the silver medal. To close the podium, Ecuador surprised the Dominican Republic and beat them 21-16.
WOMEN’S
In the women’s branch, the big winner was the Canadian team, which, after a somewhat turbulent initial phase where they suffered their only defeat of the tournament against Paraguay, knew how to overcome in the direct elimination rounds and took the gold medal. In the final, the Canadian team defeated Mexico 18-13 to be crowned the best in the women’s event. Precisely their only executioner, the local team, reached the bronze medal after defeating Brazil 16-15 in a game that needed extra time to define the winner.
