THE PAN AMERICAN FLAME ARRIVES IN GUAIRÁ

Villarrica became the ninth city to receive the Pan American Flame. The relay began at Parque del Guairá, covered around 20 blocks, and ended in front of the Government House of Paraguay's fourth department.

The torch was carried by outstanding athletes and local figures, who represented the effort, perseverance, and spirit of overcoming challenges that define Paraguayan youth.

The athletes who carried the torch were: Claudia Encina (Athletics), Enrique Vera (Cycling), Juan Pablo Aquino (Basketball), Fiorela Gomez (Volleyball), Gonzalo Silva (Rugby), Matias Villalba (Karate), Guido Fleitas (Futsal FIFA), Jorge Garcete (Handball), Fabricio Doldan and Lia Arzamendia (Table Tennis).

The Government House served as the main stage, where the pride of the Guairá community was on full display, celebrating their role in this journey that unites the country through the values of sport.

The ceremony also paid tribute to the region’s cultural traditions, featuring artistic performances and expressions that reflect Guairá’s rich heritage.

With this stop in Villarrica, the journey of the Pan American Flame continues connecting regions and igniting hearts throughout the country, on the way to what promises to be a true celebration of sport.

COUNTDOWN TO THE JUNIOR PAN AMERICAN GAMES ASU2025

From August 9 to 23, Paraguay will host the Junior Pan American Games ASU2025, bringing together over 4,000 athletes from across the continent. This event will not only be a sports celebration but also a platform to showcase talent, youth, and continental integration.
