The community of Boquerón experienced a day filled with pride, identity, and sporting spirit as they welcomed the torch, which is traveling through Paraguay on its way to the ASU2025 Junior Pan American Games.
From its arrival, the flame was accompanied by residents, students, teachers, athletes, and representatives from various sectors of society in a symbolic journey that concluded at the Central Monument of Coexistence and Development. Each step was a living demonstration of the Chaco’s enthusiasm to be part of this significant moment for national sports.
A Chaco Celebration with its Own Unique Mark
Filadelfia welcomed the Pan American Flame with all the vibrancy and warmth of its people. Present were Claudelino Rodas, the city’s mayor, and Harold Bergen, governor of the Boquerón department, accompanied by Ruthie Bergen, Randolf Gotz, Óscar Ferreira, Pedro Cubas, Police Director Ramón Escobar, Rufino Garrido, and Lic. Emiliano Servín, who all participated in this emotional event alongside the citizens.
The presence of authorities, along with the support of educational institutions, local organizations, and entire families, transformed the day into a true celebration for the city.
Dreams That Walk with the Torch
One of the most emotional moments was the torch relay, carried out by young local athletes who proudly represented their community. Tatjana Wiebe, Saúl Frederoco Schneider, César Nicolás Delgado, Daniel Marko Doerksen, Maegen Sawatzky, Miguel Orqueda, and Iván Pacce were entrusted with bearing the flame, making it clear that the future of Paraguayan sports is in good hands.
Each of them walked with conviction, reminding us that dreams are built with effort, passion, and teamwork.
