The first three events of this sport in the ASU2025 Games were held. First, in the 20,000-meter race walk, two Mexicans took the medal in the women’s branch. The gold was awarded to Karla Serrano, with great speed and endurance on the track, and the silver medal was obtained by Valeria Flores. The podium was completed by the Colombian athlete Natalia Pulido who won the bronze.
In the men’s 100-meter dash, within the Decathlon, the Mexican Darío Rodríguez took first place by stopping the clock at 10.73 seconds. Second place went to local athlete Alexander Mannel, with a time of 10.90, while third place went to the Chilean Max Moraga, who registered 11.01.
Finally, and continuing with the men’s Decathlon, the Cuban Josmi Sánchez obtained the best mark in the long jump, registering a total score of 7.31 meters and 888 points. Second, the Paraguayan athlete Alexander Mannel was positioned with a final score of 7.23. Third place went to the Chilean Max Moraga with 7.21.
The other five finals this afternoon and evening will be in the long jump, 10,000 meters, 5,000 meters, javelin throw, and the mixed 4×400 relay.
Athletics in these Games will be held from August 18 to 22 at the Olympic Park, which will host the main track and field competitions of the event.
