In the exciting inaugural day of this urban sport, Brazil and the United States took control of it with the highest number of scores in both categories. In Women’s Street, the American Poe Pinson stood out, achieving the highest score with 121.11, accumulating a large amount in Run 1 and in the second round of tricks, demonstrating great technique and consistency in her executions.
The Brazilian María Lucia also stood out, finishing second with a score of 113.02. As for the qualifications for the medal day, tomorrow, seven competitors from the second group and only one from the first advanced to the next round: the Argentinian Morena Abril Domínguez who accumulated 66.43 in the first series.
In the men’s category, something similar happened, especially on the part of Team Brazil. Filipe Mota stood out as the spearhead in this regard with an impressive score of 171.37, accumulating points in the tricks with good sequences that motivated applause from the audience. He was followed by his compatriot, Matheus Joao de Almeida Mendes with 155.38 points, and the American Lazer Crawford who finished with 150.87 points.
